The Danish Afghanistan Committee (DAC) is an unpolitical association based on private membership with a voluntary unpaid board. DAC was founded in 1984 and has been working with health care projects in Afghanistan (originally Pakistan for Afghan refugees) ever since.
The vision of DAC is to create “equal access to health care for all Afghans – with special focus on women, children and vulnerable groups – in order to improve quality of life for the afghan population”.
DAC is active in the Herat province of western Afghanistan:
- Informing the Afghan population about the health care assistance which they are entitled to from the public health service according to Afghan law.
- With initiatives to prevent and treat diabetes and information in this area.
